This notice explains how OrthoMonk handles personal data. It is provided for transparency only and is not legal advice.

1. Who is the Data Controller?

The controller for personal data collected through this website is Alexandru Macavei, operating OrthoMonk as an individual creator. You can contact me through the private contact form.

2. What Data We Collect and Why

We process only the minimum data needed for the purposes below:

• Website Browsing: Our hosting provider (Netlify) receives standard technical server request logs (IP address, browser user-agent, date/time, requested page). These logs are processed for hosting delivery, security, DDoS protection, and troubleshooting. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and available website.
• Contact Form Correspondence: If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, topic, and message you provide. Netlify processes the submission on our behalf, and we use it solely to respond to your inquiry and maintain a necessary record of the communication. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to your request, and where applicable, performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps.
• Supporter Contributions (Ko-fi / Stripe / PayPal): Ko-fi, Stripe (for card payments), and PayPal (for payments made through PayPal) collect and process payment information directly under their own terms. We receive your chosen display name, supporter message, and email address for communication, record-keeping, and recognition. We never receive or store complete payment card credentials or PayPal account credentials. Legal basis: performance of the contribution arrangement and our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate records and complying with tax/accounting obligations.

3. Recipients and Processors

Your data may be processed by the following service providers acting as processors or recipients:

• Netlify, Inc. — static hosting, edge delivery, server logs, spam filtering, and contact-form processing.
• Ko-fi, Stripe, Inc., and PayPal — payment processing and supporter contribution records (the specific processor depends on the payment method you choose).
• Your email provider and ours — routing and storing correspondence when we reply to your inquiry.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.

4. International Data Transfers

Some providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. Any such processing is governed by the applicable safeguards and privacy terms of the relevant provider, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions recognised under applicable data-protection law.

5. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above:

• Server logs: retained by Netlify according to Netlify's retention policy, then deleted or anonymized.
• Contact-form correspondence: retained for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and for a limited follow-up period, after which it is deleted unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
• Supporter records: retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law, then deleted.

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request erasure ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances.
• Restrict processing in certain circumstances.
• Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (data portability).
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).

If our data handling practices change (for instance, when game launcher or cloud save services are introduced in future versions), this notice will be updated accordingly.
